Indonesia’s National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit, announced that two individuals have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that left one Australian dead and another injured.
The incident occurred on Saturday when two men broke into a villa near the popular tourist area of Canggu, Bali, fatally shooting 32-year-old Zivan Radmanovic. Another Australian national, Sanar Ghanim, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment in Bali.
Local media reports indicate that two suspects are being held and interrogated in Singapore, with Bali police arresting one of them at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
According to Bali Police Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation, AKBP Agus Bahari, the arrests were carried out “smoothly” and without resistance, as reported by Detik Bali. However, the ABC has not yet independently verified this information.
Authorities have not released the names of those arrested.
“The full details will be provided by Bali Police,” General Sigit stated. “What is clear is that this operation involved cooperation between the Indonesian criminal investigation agency, immigration, and the Australian Federal Police.”
A Bali police spokesperson added that they coordinated with immigration authorities to secure key departure points, including airports and ports, to prevent any suspects from fleeing.
Additionally, two more individuals are being questioned, and police have interviewed seven witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
