Police in Western Australia have arrested two men in their 20s following the death of a man in his 60s who was found unresponsive on a busy street in Fremantle. The incident has led to the closure of one of the suburb’s most popular areas as the Homicide Squad investigates.
The man was discovered unconscious on South Terrace, near Douglas Street, in Fremantle – approximately 20km southwest of Perth’s CBD – around 2:05am. Paramedics attended the scene and transported him to Fiona Stanley Hospital, where he later passed away.
Two men aged in their 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently assisting police with enquiries. No charges have been laid at this stage. South Terrace remains closed while investigations continue.
