Two men are in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds during a shooting in Sydney’s west.
According to NSW Police, the men were among four occupants of a vehicle that came under fire on Church Street in Parramatta around 5:10pm on Sunday. The other two men in the car were not injured.
NSW Ambulance confirmed both injured individuals were in critical condition. Paramedics provided emergency treatment at the scene before transporting them to hospital.
Police told the ABC the shooting appeared to be targeted.
A short time later, police responded to reports of a car fire on Sherwood Street in Merrylands West. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle and a nearby tree ablaze. Authorities are investigating whether the two incidents are connected.
Crime scenes have been established at both locations, and detectives are continuing their inquiries.
