Aldi’s beloved Snow Gear Special Buys are making a return, with the retailer declaring this year’s event will be a “big one” in celebration of its 20th anniversary in Australia.
It’s been 20 years since the German supermarket giant first launched its popular snow gear sale in the iconic middle aisle, a promotion that consistently draws Aussies out early in the morning in hopes of snagging high-quality winter gear at bargain prices.
To mark the milestone, Aldi has introduced a premium snow gear collection it’s calling its “coolest range yet,” featuring over 65 items priced under $100.
The new range hits stores on Saturday, May 17, and includes standout newcomers such as the Waist-Belted Ladies’ Snowsuit ($79.99) — a fashion-forward piece that looks straight off the runway — and the Aldi Ski Sweater, perfect for shoppers eager to show off their Aldi loyalty.
“We know our Aussie shoppers eagerly anticipate our Snow Gear Special Buys each year, and we’re consistently amazed by the enthusiastic turnout, with customers lining up before opening to grab the latest products,” an Aldi spokesperson told news.com.au. “The continued success over two decades highlights the unbeatable value and quality our snow gear offers.”
This year’s premium line-up includes more than 65 under-$100 options, extending to a full kids’ range.
“We’re thrilled to remain a go-to destination for Australians planning their snow holidays, offering top-tier gear at affordable prices in 2025,” the spokesperson added.
The collection spans everything from insulated base layers and waterproof outerwear to gloves and boots. A complete outfit for adults comes in at $263.89, while kids can be fully kitted out for $182.90.
Whether you’re a seasoned skier, a first-time snow-goer, or simply in search of affordable, stylish winter clothing, Aldi says this is one middle aisle trip worth making.
Returning customer favourites from last year include the Adult’s Merino Tank and Women’s Camisole at $19.99 — ideal for layering — and the Adult’s Ski Twosies, also $19.99, offering cozy comfort in a matching fleece set. The Adult’s Premium Ski Jacket is back too at $99.99, offering breathable, water-resistant performance.
“We’re proud to unveil our coolest collection since we began offering snow gear over 20 years ago,” said the spokesperson.
“While functionality and durability remain key, we’ve also infused this year’s line with stylish touches. Drawing inspiration from current trends and alpine aesthetics, we’ve created pieces that deliver on performance and stand out in style.”
Highlight items include the fashion-forward Adult’s Après Merino Blend Sweaters ($39.99) and the limited-edition Waist-Belted Ladies’ Snowsuit ($79.99).
The retailer partners with global experts in snow gear design to develop high-performance apparel at accessible prices for every layer.
“This year’s gear features advanced fabrics, thoughtful design elements for durability, and has been thoroughly tested in the snowy terrain of Japan.”
