Eight-year-old boy dies after falling from vehicle in Perth’s east

An eight-year-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in a bushland area of suburban Perth.

According to police, the child fell from a moving vehicle around 4pm yesterday in the outer north-eastern suburb of Mount Helena and was subsequently hit by the same vehicle.

First responders transported the boy to a nearby home before police and St John Ambulance personnel arrived at the scene.

The incident occurred in bushland close to the intersection of Baldock Road and Whitlam Street in Mount Helena.

The boy was initially taken to Midland Hospital, then transferred to Perth Children’s Hospital, where he later passed away.

Major Crash officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
