A third man has been charged with murder and torture in connection with the death of a 52-year-old man in Brisbane’s south-west earlier this year.
According to police, the victim was attacked near Rudyard Street in Inala on the evening of January 6. He later presented at Logan Hospital with head injuries after midnight and died the following day.
Ten days after the incident, two men—a 31-year-old from Birkdale and a 32-year-old from Griffin—were charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, armed robbery, kidnapping, and torture in relation to the case.
On Monday, a 26-year-old man from Cleveland was also charged with murder, along with 17 additional offences including armed robbery, kidnapping, torture, and trafficking dangerous drugs.
Detective Acting Inspector Daniel Cunningham described the case as “long-running and complex.”
“We will allege the individuals involved knew each other, and their actions led to the tragic death of a man who suffered severe injuries,” he said.
