Wayne Yole Issued Show Cause Notice Following Stable Inspection in Tasmania
Tasmanian harness racing trainer Wayne Yole has been given until April 30 to respond to a formal show cause notice issued after authorities identified alleged breaches at his Sidmouth property.
The notice follows a coordinated inspection of the stables on March 24, led by Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner Sean Carroll. The operation involved representatives from the Tasracing Integrity Unit, RSPCA Tasmania, Biosecurity Tasmania, and the West Tamar Council.
During the inspection, authorities reported finding multiple alleged violations of animal welfare standards and racing regulations. As a result, Tasracing has asked Yole to explain why he should be permitted to continue housing, stabling, or training horses at the site.
While the specific details of the alleged breaches remain unclear, the matter is being treated seriously. Yole has been given until the end of the month to address any concerns and formally respond to the allegations.
A spokesperson for Wayne Yole acknowledged the situation, saying the team is awaiting further clarification.
“We are still waiting on clarification regarding what is required,” the spokesperson said. “We’re hopeful the matter can be resolved in an orderly and constructive way.”
Wayne Yole is the father of well-known harness trainers Ben and Tim Yole. His training operations had previously been approved by the now-disbanded Office of Racing Integrity.
