U.S. President Donald Trump held separate high-level meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, as global conflicts involving Ukraine, Russia, Israel and Iran remain at a critical stage.
The discussions took place alongside ceremonies honouring the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent Republican figure and strong supporter of both Ukraine and Israel. Trump, Zelenskyy and Netanyahu attended events marking Graham’s political legacy and influence on U.S. foreign policy.
During Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian leader sought continued American support for Kyiv’s defence efforts and discussed expanding cooperation in weapons production. The talks reportedly included defence manufacturing cooperation, including plans linked to advanced missile systems.
The meeting came as Ukraine attempts to strengthen its position in negotiations with Russia and secure long-term military assistance from Washington. Zelenskyy has continued pushing for stronger security guarantees and expanded defence partnerships.
Trump’s talks with Netanyahu focused heavily on Middle East security issues, including the ongoing tensions involving Iran. The Israeli prime minister reportedly raised concerns about Iran’s nuclear activities and regional threats, while Trump sought to balance military pressure with diplomatic efforts.
The meetings reflect the complex diplomatic challenges facing Washington, with the administration attempting to manage multiple international crises at once — from the war in Ukraine to escalating Middle East tensions.
The presence of both leaders in Washington during Senator Graham’s memorial events highlighted the late senator’s influence on U.S. foreign policy, particularly his strong positions on Russia, Iran and Israel.
