UK moving fighter jets to the Middle East

The UK is deploying additional military assets, including fighter jets, to the Middle East in response to the escalating conflict.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed the move, saying it is intended for contingency support in the region. He made the announcement while en route to the G7 summit in Canada, where he is set to meet with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The UK already has jets stationed in the region for operations targeting threats in Iraq and Syria. According to a spokesperson, preparations for deployment began on Friday as tensions in the area worsened.
