The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused opposition parties of using protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak to regain political attention rather than genuinely supporting affected students.
The BJP made the claim after the Congress organised a demonstration outside the prime minister’s residence, while the Aam Aadmi Party criticised Congress over its involvement. According to the BJP, the dispute between the opposition parties showed that the demonstrations had become a competition for political credit.
The party alleged that the protests were “sponsored” and claimed that students directly affected by the examination controversy had not been given enough opportunity to present their concerns. It said opposition politicians had repeatedly visited Jantar Mantar in an effort to remain politically relevant.
BJP leader Amit Malviya argued that the timing of the agitation was deliberate. He claimed that groups unhappy with India’s progress were attempting to create disruption, spread misleading information and weaken public confidence in the government.
Malviya further said that political forces unable to stop the BJP through elections were now trying to slow the country’s development through continuous protests and what he described as manufactured crises. These statements represent the BJP’s position amid continuing political tensions over the alleged examination irregularities.
