Hundreds of Commonwealth Bank customers were unable to transfer funds or make payments using NetBank or the CommBank app for several hours on Friday due to a technical issue.

The disruption impacted outgoing transfers from CommBank accounts, with services only being restored around 2pm. Users attempting to send money via PayID or using BSB and account numbers received an error message stating, “Something’s gone wrong. Try again a little later.”

ATM payments remained operational throughout the outage.

The bank later confirmed on its website that the issue had been resolved, apologizing for the inconvenience and thanking customers for their patience.

Over 400 users reported problems with online banking and fund transfers on Down Detector. Many frustrated customers noted it was the second similar outage in a month.

“Transfers are down again,” one user wrote, while another commented that both transfers and customer support bots were not working.
