Pakistan’s military successfully intercepted and shot down an Indian drone that entered its airspace in an attempted attack. The drone was brought down in Bahawalnagar before it could hit its intended target, according to Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, as reported by Geo News. However, the exact time of the incident was not disclosed.

Minister Tarar stated, “Pakistan has successfully downed another Indian Harop drone. Our air defense system in Bahawalnagar responded swiftly and neutralized the threat. Our forces remain fully prepared to counter any aggression.”

Earlier on Tuesday, May 6, the same region witnessed an Indian missile strike that caused significant damage, further escalating tensions between the two countries.

In a separate development, on Thursday night, Pakistan claimed to have shot down at least 25 Israeli-made Harop drones sent by India. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army employed both technical soft-kill and weapon-based hard-kill methods to completely disable the incoming drones.

The ISPR added that India launched the drone assault in a state of panic after Pakistan’s retaliatory action on May 6, which reportedly resulted in the destruction of five advanced Indian fighter jets, the downing of several drones, and the death of multiple Indian troops.

Military sources emphasized that Pakistan will always respond firmly to any aggressive actions and stands resolute in defending its sovereignty.
