Josh Heuston Dodges Questions Over Mika Abdalla Romance

Australian actor Josh Heuston has avoided directly addressing questions about his reported romance with Off Campus co-star Mika Abdalla, despite the pair recently being photographed together during an affectionate outing in Vancouver.

The 29-year-old Sydney-raised actor was attending the Celebrity 1 Point Padel event in Sydney when questions turned from sport to his increasingly public personal life. Heuston has attracted considerable attention in recent months following speculation that his on-screen connection with Abdalla may have developed into an off-screen relationship.

When Heuston was asked whether Abdalla could soon make a trip to Sydney, the actor declined to provide any confirmation about their relationship or possible plans together. Instead, he responded cautiously, indicating that Abdalla’s travel arrangements were entirely her decision.

His reluctance to discuss the subject comes only days after the Off Campus co-stars were photographed looking particularly close during an outing in Vancouver on August 10.

The pair were seen walking hand-in-hand through the Canadian city, while photographs also captured Heuston kissing Abdalla on the forehead. They later attended a Suki Waterhouse concert in Vancouver, further fuelling public interest in their relationship.

Speculation surrounding Heuston and Abdalla did not begin in Vancouver. Dating rumours had already emerged earlier in the northern summer after photographs of the actors together during a Paris trip in June began circulating online. Heuston also shared an image showing himself and Abdalla sitting together on an aircraft.

The two actors became closely associated through the television adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s popular Off Campus novels. Abdalla plays Allie Hayes, while Heuston portrays Justin Kohl, and their appearances together away from filming have increasingly attracted attention from fans of the series.

The relationship speculation has also followed a major change in Abdalla’s personal life. The 26-year-old actress and actor Jake Short ended their engagement in June 2026 after approximately four years together. A representative said at the time that Abdalla and Short remained supportive of each other and were on friendly terms following their separation.

While Heuston remained guarded about the romance questions, the Sydney event itself attracted a high-profile sporting and entertainment crowd.

Australian tennis stars Ash Barty, Pat Rafter and Todd Woodbridge were among those involved in the Celebrity 1 Point Padel event, alongside Australian model Bambi Northwood-Blyth. Former footballer Lachlan McLean ultimately claimed victory.

Woodbridge also arrived at the event ahead of a significant weekend in his television career, with the former tennis champion nominated for the Gold Logie. He admitted that he considered himself an underdog and had not prepared a victory speech.

For Heuston, however, attention continues to follow what is happening away from the sporting court.

Despite his careful response in Sydney, his recent public appearances with Abdalla have intensified interest in the pair. For now, Heuston appears determined to keep the details of their relationship private rather than publicly defining it.
