Seiko has introduced a new limited-edition version of its Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver, pairing vintage-inspired design with a dark green and gold colour scheme influenced by Austria’s Lake Hallstatt.

Known as the HBC010, the model will be sold exclusively in Europe and limited to 1,400 pieces.
The watch is based on Seiko’s modern interpretation of the 62MAS, the company’s first professional dive watch, originally released in 1965.
That historic model has become one of the most important references in Seiko’s diving-watch history, and its clean case shape continues to influence modern Prospex designs.
The latest HBC010 keeps the mechanical and structural updates introduced to the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver in 2024 while adding a distinctive colour treatment and an extra strap.
Rather than creating an entirely new platform, Seiko has used an already well-established model and given it a more regional and collectible identity.
A Modern Take on Seiko’s First Dive Watch
The HBC010 retains the familiar case shape associated with the 1965 62MAS.

Unlike many other Seiko divers, it places the crown at the traditional three o’clock position, giving the watch a more restrained and symmetrical appearance.
Following the 2024 redesign, the stainless-steel case measures 40mm in diameter, 13mm thick and 46.4mm from lug to lug.
Those dimensions are slightly more compact than the previous generation, which measured 40.5mm across, 13.2mm thick and 47.6mm long.
The reduced proportions are intended to make the watch more comfortable and versatile without sacrificing the robust character expected from the Prospex range.
Water resistance has also been increased from 200 metres to 300 metres.
The watch is equipped with a screw-down crown and caseback, a unidirectional rotating bezel and a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating.
The bezel carries a full 60-minute diving scale and is designed to support professional or recreational underwater timing.
Green and Gold Hallstatt-Inspired Styling
The biggest change is the new colour palette.

Both the dial and bezel use a deep green tone intended to reflect the natural surroundings of Lake Hallstatt in Austria.
The bezel features a matte, grain-textured metal insert with cream-coloured markings, helping give the watch a softer vintage appearance.
The dial receives a sunray-brushed finish that changes subtly depending on the light.
Gold-coloured hands and applied hour markers contrast against the dark green background, while cream-toned Lumibrite inserts reinforce the retro character.
The result is warmer and more decorative than the standard black, blue or grey versions commonly found in Seiko’s professional diving line.
A circular date window remains positioned at 4:30.
Although the date placement may divide enthusiasts, it preserves the layout used across the current generation of the 1965 Heritage Diver.
Three-Day Automatic Movement
Inside the HBC010 is Seiko’s calibre 6R55.
Watches
The automatic movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, equivalent to 3Hz, and contains 24 jewels.
Its main advantage is an extended power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
That allows the watch to continue running for about three days after being removed from the wrist, making it practical for owners who rotate between several watches.
The movement forms part of Seiko’s mid-range mechanical family and is designed to offer a balance of reliability, autonomy and affordability.
Updated Bracelet and Additional Strap
The HBC010 is supplied on Seiko’s rounded-link stainless-steel bracelet.
It also features the updated folding clasp introduced on newer versions of the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver.
The clasp includes an integrated diving extension that provides up to 15mm of adjustment.
Wearers can lengthen or shorten the bracelet in six separate 2.5mm increments by pressing the buttons on the side of the clasp.
This system allows the watch to fit over a wetsuit and also provides quick adjustment during daily wear when wrist size changes because of temperature or activity.
Seiko also includes a black silicone strap with its own pin buckle.
That second option gives the watch a more traditional tool-watch appearance and may be better suited to swimming or warmer conditions.
Limited to Europe
Production of the Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010 will be capped at 1,400 units.
The model will be available only in the European market and priced at €1,650.
Its limited distribution, historically significant design and unusual green-and-gold styling are likely to make it attractive to both Seiko collectors and enthusiasts looking for a more distinctive dive watch.
The HBC010 does not radically alter the Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver formula.
