Donald Trump drew a comparison between the US airstrikes on Iran and the atomic bombings of Japan during World War II.
Speaking in The Hague, Trump stated: “They spent trillions of dollars attempting this, and they failed. Meanwhile, we’re actually maintaining good relations with them now.
“But if we hadn’t succeeded with that strike? That strike ended the conflict. It ended the war. I don’t want to directly reference Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but essentially, it was similar to what ended that war back then. This strike brought an end to this conflict. If we hadn’t eliminated that target, there would still be ongoing fighting.”
