As military tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held separate phone calls with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief General Asim Munir to discuss the situation.

According to diplomatic sources, Rubio urged Pakistan to halt its anti-India military operations and focus on de-escalation. He emphasized the need for both nations to take immediate steps toward peace and avoid further conflict. “It is essential for both sides to reduce tensions and pursue a path of dialogue and diplomacy,” Rubio stated.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar affirmed Pakistan’s willingness to engage in peaceful resolution but placed the onus on India. “Pakistan is ready to de-escalate, but only if India halts all forms of military aggression,” Dar warned. “Should India escalate further, Pakistan will respond with greater force. Therefore, the responsibility lies with India.”

Rubio also spoke with Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, echoing the same message and offering US support in facilitating constructive dialogue to prevent future conflicts.

The situation along the India-Pakistan border and in Kashmir remains volatile, with reports of ongoing military strikes from both sides. The international community continues to call for restraint and dialogue to prevent a wider regional conflict.
