Albanese Reaffirms Call for US to Drop Tariffs as Penny Wong Heads to Washington for Quad Talks
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has renewed his call for the United States to lift tariffs on Australian goods, emphasising that such trade barriers “should be zero” between close allies.
The comments come as Foreign Minister Penny Wong prepares to travel to Washington this week for high-level discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and fellow Quad ministers. The meetings are expected to cover regional security, economic cooperation, and the future of Australia–US trade relations.
