Australia wrapped up a dominant 5–0 T20 series sweep over the West Indies with a three-wicket win in the final match on Monday in Basseterre, Saint Kitts, led by standout bowling from Ben Dwarshuis.

Mitchell Owen top-scored with a quick-fire 37 off 17 balls, while Cameron Green (32), Tim David (30), and Aaron Hardie (28 not out) all made key contributions to help Australia chase down the target of 171 with three overs to spare.

This marks the first-ever T20 series clean sweep by an Australian men’s team in the Caribbean.

“I didn’t think 5-0 was on the cards at the start,” said captain Mitchell Marsh. “But we played some outstanding cricket. After game four, we talked about making history, and I’m proud of how everyone adapted and stepped up.”

The visitors had again won the toss and opted to bowl—a move that paid off as they dismissed the West Indies for 170. Shimron Hetmyer anchored the hosts’ innings with a spirited 52 off 31 balls, but Australia’s attack, spearheaded by Dwarshuis, proved too strong.

Dwarshuis claimed the key wickets of Hetmyer, Brandon King (11), and Shai Hope (9), and was named Player of the Match for his efforts.

“It was a slower pitch, so we focused on hitting the deck and mixing in slower deliveries,” said Dwarshuis. “With both teams playing aggressively, it was a tough series, but it’s been incredible to be part of this squad.”

Australia now heads home for a limited-overs series against South Africa, while the West Indies will face Pakistan in a three-match T20 and ODI series.
