India has dispatched 10 tonnes of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief materials to Nepal as the country continues rescue and recovery operations following devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river regions.

The emergency supplies include essential medicines and other relief materials aimed at supporting communities affected by the deadly flash floods that caused widespread destruction across northern Nepal.
India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced the assistance, expressing solidarity with the people of Nepal during the ongoing disaster.
“Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and all those affected,” Jaishankar said in a statement shared on social media.
He said India stands with Nepal and its citizens during the difficult period as rescue teams continue efforts to assist victims and restore essential services.
Support for flood-affected communities
The relief shipment is part of India’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) support programme, aimed at helping neighbouring countries respond to major emergencies.

The supplies are expected to assist Nepal’s emergency response efforts by providing critical medical resources and other necessities for people displaced or injured by the floods.
The Bhotekoshi flood disaster has caused significant loss of life, damaged infrastructure and disrupted communities in several districts, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
Nepal has been conducting large-scale search, rescue and relief operations with support from government agencies, security forces, volunteers and international partners.
Regional cooperation during disaster
The latest assistance reflects close cooperation between Nepal and India during times of humanitarian emergencies.
India has previously provided support to Nepal during major disasters, including earthquakes, floods and other natural calamities.

As Nepal continues recovery efforts, authorities are coordinating with international partners to secure additional relief materials, financial support and technical assistance.
The Nepal government has declared flood-affected areas as disaster zones and is prioritising rescue operations, medical care, temporary shelter and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
