Recent satellite imagery has revealed extensive damage to several key Iranian military and nuclear facilities, caused by Israeli strikes. The images, provided by commercial satellite firm Maxar Technologies, offer rare visual insights amid limited press access and reported internet restrictions in Iran.
Natanz Nuclear Facility
One of the most significant impacts was at the Natanz nuclear facility, a major uranium enrichment site located south of Tehran. Analysis of the satellite images from June 15, 2025, shows multiple buildings in the north-western section of the complex have sustained damage.
New vehicle tracks and piles of disturbed earth have also appeared, indicating recent surface activity. Comparisons with 2003 images suggest some structures may have previously been buried underground.
An Israeli military source told Reuters that Natanz had suffered substantial damage, adding that another site—Isfahan—was also hit. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that radiation levels outside the Natanz facility remain stable.
Strikes on Military Infrastructure
Damage was not confined to nuclear sites. Satellite imagery of the Shahid Modarres Garrison near Bid Kaneh, southwest of Tehran, shows clear signs of destruction. This site is known for its role in producing ballistic missiles and has reportedly expanded in recent years, according to a Reuters investigation.
The images show several buildings with visible roof damage, including large holes that suggest direct hits. Past reports have linked some of these facilities to drone manufacturing, although this has not been independently verified.
Fires at Military Electronics Facility in Shiraz
In Shiraz, located in Iran’s south-central region, satellite images show a fire at a facility owned by Shiraz Electronic Industries. The company is known for producing military electronics, including radar systems, and is sanctioned by several Western nations, including Australia.
Damage to Suspected Missile Facility in Kermanshah
Imagery also confirms damage to a large suspected missile site near Kermanshah, in western Iran. Marked damage is visible to several buildings and the entrance to a suspected tunnel. The International Institute for Strategic Studies previously identified Kermanshah as a key location for missile deployment and potential underground storage.
